Teamsters strike Canadian Overnite terminals
WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 20, 2000) — Teamsters Canada began a job action at Overnite Transportation Co.’s eight terminals in Canada, bringing the long-running dispute between the two organizations north of the border.
Teamster officials in Canada have been warning Overnite customers that a strike was imminent and that freight service may be interrupted. The union has alleged unfair labor practices at Overnite, the less-than-truckload subsidiary of Union Pacific.
