Ted Gorski Sr. passes away
OLDCASTLE, Ont. — Ted Gorski Sr. founder of Windsor, Ont.-area Gorski Bulk Transport has passed away at the age of 88.
In an announcement posted at the Ontario Trucking Association website, Gorski is described as a trucking industry pioneer whose passions — agriculture and transportation – drove his zest for life.
Also active farmer, the long-time OTA member pioneered the introduction of anhydrous ammonia for farming to Ontario.
"An active businessman throughout his life, he also had a kind heart for those in need and provided many people a start in business," states the OTA.
He and his wife of 63 years, Lottie, sponsored many immigrating families trying to build a new life in Canada.
"He was very proud of his family and his Polish heritage and will be missed and remembered by many," states OTA. "He was a man of perseverance and was always ready to speak his mind and share his ideas on how to succeed."
Gorski is survived by his wife Lottie and four sons.
Donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Church Restoration Fund. Charities of your choice would also be appreciated by the family.
Visitation is Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
