Teleflex puts foot to pedal
Teleflex Morse
Teleflex Morse Motion Systems of Limerick, Pa., has a new electrical adjustable foot pedal system that it claims delivers improved comfort and greater safety to drivers of trucks and other heavy duty vehicles.
With the touch of a button, operators can adjust the throttle and brake pedals fore and aft into the optimum driving position. “Drivers come in all shapes and sizes,” said Brad Petersen, truck manager for Teleflex. “And the horizontally positioned wheels found on large vehicles make it difficult for a driver to find a balance between comfort and safe operation of the pedals. This is especially true with bus or truck fleets, where a vehicle may have different operators from day to day.”
Teleflex Morse’s new pedal system provides up to three inches of linear travel in less than six seconds. It is already standard equipment on at least one motor coach line and is offered as an OEM option on others.
