Terion, Maddocks announce integrated systems

MELBOURNE, Fla., and LANGLEY, B.C. (Jan. 29, 2001) — Terion Inc., a provider of vehicle tracking systems, said it has installed the new Communications Manager module of Maddocks Systems’ TruckMate for Windows, v. 4.0 (TM4Win) on its in-truck computer.

The new software module will give Maddocks customers using Terion’s communication software location and trip-status information as well as automated exchange of data between their dispatch systems and drivers.

Maddocks Systems, Inc. has close to 350 installed sites throughout North America using its TruckMate For Windows software. TM4Win is a client server system running under Microsoft’s Windows operating system and is the among the industry leaders in trucking software functionality with the ability to handle full truckload, less than load (LTL), and brokerage/freight forwarding operations.

“With this interface being added to the suite of integrated partners working with TM4Win, we are confident in saying our product integration is among the most complete among trucking software vendors in the U.S. and Canada,” said Maddocks’ president and CEO Robert Maddocks.

“The capability of our product to fully meet the needs of LTL and local pick-up and delivery operations, also adds to the strength of integration with communications programs such as Terion’s Mobile Workstation product,” Maddocks added.

“Dispatchers are able to communicate directly with drivers over Terion’s low-cost Mobile Workstation while the truck remains on route,” explains Bruce Caven, vice-president and General Manager of Terion Canada. “This kind of communication allows dispatchers to assign additional loads and pass on information more efficiently and customers benefit from quicker, more accurate service. The Terion Mobile Workstation and TM4WIN integrated solution now provides a seamless back office flow of information.”
