The CTEA is Getting SPIFfy!!
The CTEA, from day one, has been working very closely with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) on the Safe, Productive, Infrastructure Friendly (SPIF) vehicles project. Essentially, this project provides for Vehicle Weights and Dimensions reform in Ontario. And it came to a conclusion, with Phase 4, the final inclusion of trucks, buses and full/pony trailers, January 1, 2011.
As a final task in this long process, CTEA is taking on an educational roll in partnership with MTO, by providing informational workshops on SPIF on March 1st and 2nd, 2011, at the Delta Guelph Hotel in Guelph, Ontario. Eddy Tschirhart of CTEA and Ron Madill of the MTO will be taking a full day in each of these two sessions to explain, not only the new Phase 4 requirements, but they will also take a step back and make sure that all participants are familiar with all the previous phases of the projects that, included all types of semi-trailers.
Although we will be sending out invitations to all CTEA members, you can receive yours now in a PDF format simply by clicking here. The important thing to remember is that these workshops are not only for CTEA members, but for anyone with a need to understand the SPIF requirements. We strongly encourage CTEA members to bring along their customers who use truck and trailer equipment in Ontario and must meet SPIF specifications, as well anyone else that you believe should come join us. This is an excellent chance to get all of your questions answered!
There is a nominal fee of $65 per person to help offset expenses and space is somewhat limited, so please sign up early.
I am looking forward to seeing you on March 1st or 2nd in Guelph.
