Intra Technologies has developed a Low-Voltage Disconnect exclusively for Thermo King applications.
Intra’s LVD constantly monitors battery levels and automatically disconnects current draw when battery voltage reaches critical levels.
The company reached an exclusive agreement with Thermo King to catalog and distribute the Thermo King Low-Voltage Disconnect products for transport temperature control applications through Thermo King dealers in North America.
According to Gary Lemon, Thermo King’s Global VP Sales & Marketing/Aftermarket Division, transporters can now have the added assurance that their diesel-powered temperature control systems will have battery power needed to start. “It’s not uncommon for batteries to lose their charge after short periods of non-use — as little as a week,” he said, explaining battery discharge is caused by current draw, such as interior trailer lights, data loggers or other parasitic and ambient current draws.
