TIP acquires Action Trailer Leasing
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (Sept. 13, 2001) — Mississauga, Ont.-based Action Trailer Leasing has sold its over-the-road and storage trailer assets and its related lease portfolio to Transport International Pool of Devon, Pa. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Action’s 3600 trailers and leasing branches in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, and Moncton will be folded into TIP’s Canadian operations.
“This acquisition … gives us the opportunity to better meet the needs of our new and current customers throughout Canada,” TIP North America president Chris Hines said in a press release.
Action said it would continue to operate its Utility Trailer dealerships in Ontario and Quebec, as well as rent a limited number of trailers on a short-term basis.
