Titan Trailer combines light weight, walking floor
Scrap metal, aggregate material, and demolition waste aren’t always the most efficient hauls, especially if your capacity is limited to a small dump body. You might make two trips where one would do.
So Titan Trailers introduced what it calls the world’s first high-capacity, aluminum body trailer with a self-unloading floor. The 48-foot trailer is based on Titan’s THINWALL aluminum trailer body and adds the strength and efficiency of a Keith steel walking floor. It’s aimed at severe-service haulers who would otherwise use a steel-body dump trailer or flatdeck, which generally reach their practical payload limit around 50 cubic yards and can have problems handling off-balance loads on uneven work sites, says Titan president Mark Kloepfer. The 48-foot aluminum box and live steel floor, however, offers double the capacity-up to 130 cubic yards, he says.
And since the Titan unit has a covered top, it’s a viable alternative for truckers who haul crushed cars through jurisdictions that restrict them from using open-top or flat-deck trailers.
Kloepfer says Titan, based in Delhi, Ont., will custom-build the THINWALL V-Floor trailer for any extreme requirement including multi-axle units and B-trains. Go to www.titantrailers.com for details, or call 519/688-4826.
