Track by VIN: CN offers new service for auto shippers
MONTREAL (May 14, 2001) — Canadian National unveiled a new Internet tool for customers to track automobile shipments by vehicle identification number (VIN).
CN has offered various forms of shipment tracking via its Web site since 1996. The railroad currently provides shipment tracking information, estimated times of arrival, and invoice payment, among other online features.
CN is one of North America’s largest railroads. Its network spans from the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, to the Gulf of Mexico, serving the ports of Vancouver, Prince Rupert, B.C., Montreal, Halifax, New Orleans, and Mobile, Ala., and the key cities of Toronto, Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, St. Louis, and Jackson, Miss., with connections to all points in North America.
