Trailer renter goes coastal
HALIFAX — Provincial Trailer Rentals (PTR) is opening a new business center in Halifax and partnering with a local container specialist to boost its intermodal market position.
PTR has been serving the trucking business in Canada since 1964. In 2006, it was acquired by the British-Columbia-based Lions Gate Trailers, effectively making it the largest trailer rental company in Canada with more than 15,000 units on hand.
Most recently, PTR announced that it even rents long-combination-vehicle dollies.
The new venture in Halifax marks a major inroad into the marine and container business as PTR partners with Darthmouth’s Container & Trailer Services Ltd.
