TransCore’s Canadian Freight Index up; double digits
TORONTO – TransCore’s Canadian Freight Index for Canada’s spot market freight movement was up 10 percent from July of 2011 and had a 12 percent increase year-over-year.
Freight volumes for August 2011 were the highest for the same month over the last five years, and equipment postings in August marked the highest level for 2011, up 11 percent from July. Capacity came in at three percent above August 2010 levels.
Equipment-to-loads ratio remained nearly unchanged from July’s level.
