Transcraft gives trailers new paint job
Transcraft
Transcraft has announces a new, more durable paint system for Transcraft trailers-, which is now the standard coating on all trailers.
The Valspar paint system is much more resistant to physical damage and chemical corrosion, and is the result of extensive development and testing, the company says.
The process begins with clean material. All steel is pickled and left dry with no oil or shot
blasted and coated with a water-soluble protectant. After fabrication and welding of the steel structure and prior to the installation of any other materials, the entire trailer is cleaned and phosphatized in a multiple stage process with a final corrosion retardant rinse. The trailer then is coated with a primer coat and a finish coat.
The primer is a two-part alkyd base material. The final coat is a high-solid, two-part polyurethane. Even small, hard-to-reach surfaces can be coated since the painting process is finished before aluminum or wood parts are installed. The entire trailer is visually inspected and electronically measured for the required film thickness to assure the highest quality coat coverage. This total paint system is backed with a 5-year limited warranty.
