TransForce acquires Japiro Transport

MONTREAL (March 18, 2002) — TransForce Inc. has agreed to acquire Japiro Transport, a small less-than-truckload and truckload carrier operating in Quebec.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Japiro, which has about $10 million in annual revenue, will operate under the name Transport Select when the acquisition is finalized.

“This acquisition will reinforce our presence in the LTL and TL sectors in the province of Quebec,” stated TransForce president and CEO Alain Bédard.

TransForce is one of Canada’s biggest trucking and logistics operations with revenues of $450 million. Its largest operating divisions are Cabano Kingsway, TST Overland Express, and Papineau International.
