Transforce gets TCT’s Daily Motor Freight
SAINT-LAURENT, Que. (Oct. 19, 2001) — TransForce has reached an agreement with TCT Logistics to acquire the majority of the assets of TCT’s eastern LTL subsidiary Daily Motor Freight. The deal is said to be worth about $31 million and gives TCT the right to transport TransForce’s westbound truckload freight at market rates.
TransForce president and CEO Alain Bedard said the acquisition reinforces his company’s presence in the LTL sector, while TCT president Kenneth Lucas said his company’s exit from the “highly competitive” Eastern LTL market and new partnership with TransForce will allow TCT to strengthen its Western business and pay down debt.
