TransLink to lower off-peak bridge tolls

LANGLEY, B.C. – TransLink will begin offering reduced truck toll rates during off-peak hours on the Golden Ears Bridge.

Beginning April 15, 2011, a six-week pilot test for "variable tolls" will discount rates up to 30 percent to vehicles during off-peak times, which include 6 pm to 6 am, Monday through Thursday and weekend evenings beginning at 6 pm Friday, and on statutory holidays.

Large trucks with transponders will be charged $5.90 during off-peak compared to $8.40, while pay-as-you-go trucks will pay $6.70, down from $9.55.

For registered video users, the rate falls from $9.00 to $6.30.
