Tranzact changes company name

GREEN BAY, Wis. (Sept. 7, 2001) — Schneider Logistics Inc., the logistics arm of Schneider National, said it is changing the name of its freight payment company, Tranzact Payment Services, to Schneider Logistics Payment Services.

The name change brings consistency to the branding of Schneider Logistics services, company officials said.

Schneider Logistics, the third-party logistics arm of truckload giant Schneider National, acquired Tranzact in March 2000. In the 15 months since the acquisition, Schneider Logistics Payment Services’ volume of freight payment transactions has increased 25%, the company said.

Schneider Logistics Payment Services processes 75% of its freight bill volume in the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment, making the company the largest processor of EDI freight bills in the United States.
