TravelCenters Of America opens maintenance shop in Ont.
WOODSTOCK, Ont. (July 26, 2004) — TravelCenters of America — the largest network of full-service travel centres in the U.S. — has opened its first truck maintenance shop north of the border.
The Westlake, Ohio-based company announced that the Canadian maintenance shop will be located in Woodstock, Ont. at the 230 Travel Centre on Hwy. 401. The 11,757 square-foot facility will offer four truck service bays, Express Lane Services and 24-hour emergency road service. Freightliner ServicePoint, an authorized express service for Freightliner trucks, will be offered by the end of this year.
It will also feature Bridgestone/Firestone tires and selected Mobil Delvac-branded commercial vehicle lubricants as its preferred engine oils, the company said.
“Our new Woodstock TA Shop will offer a complete line of products and services, with only some minor exceptions from our U.S. TA Shops,” said Brenda Powell, general manager. “And we are proud to employ Canadian Licensed Technicians as part of our hard-working, dedicated staff. We have added 15 permanent, full-time employees at the Woodstock Travel Centre, who are eager to begin working at our new facility.”
