Trimac buys four small Atlantic carriers
CALGARY (Aug. 27, 1999) — Trimac Transportation Services Inc. acquired four small carriers in Atlantic Canada to further expand its business there.
The company bought Sullivan Fuels Bulk Hauling Division of Sydney, N.S.; Gateway Fuels Bulk Hauling Division of Yarmouth, N.S.; Roadmaster Transport’s Container Transport Division of Dartmouth, N.S.; and J & L Trucking of Botwood, Nfld.
Sullivan, a petroleum hauler, operates one tractor and two trailers and generates annual revenue of $150,000.
Gateway’s assets include one tractor and two trailers. The acquired business primarily involves petroleum transportation generating revenues of approximately $400,000 annually.
Roadmaster Transport’s container division operates 23 container chassis and generates $750,000 a year.
J & L is a petroleum hauler with three tractors and three trailers. J & L generates revenues of approximately $500,000 a year.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
