Truck Builders Name New Go-to Tech Guy

MONCTON, N.B. – – Jeremy Harrower has been named the new Technical Programs Manager at the Canadian Transportation Equipment Association (CTEA).

He’s replacing Ed Tschirhart, who is retiring after eight years on staff with the organization, but more like 40 in the transportation equipment industry.

“He [Harrower] has big shoes to fill,” CTEA President John Michel of Raglan Industries said in announcing Harrower’s appointment at the CTEA’s 48th Annual Manufacturers’ Technical Council in Moncton this week.

“It took a long while for us to find somebody but I believe we’ve found the right guy for the job.”

Born in Timmins, Ont., Harrower is bilingual and graduated as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist from Kitchener’s Conestoga College. Most recently, he worked with SAF Holland.

As part of his duties at CTEA — which is the organization for truck outfitters and equipment builders — Harrower will be communicating with members on regulations and standards for the U.S. and Canada and assisting members apply for and maintain their National Safety Marks.

Harrower was introduced to CTEA members at large.

For his part, Tschirhart will remain on hand for the next several months as Harrower eases into the position. “I’ve got a few accomplishments under my belt that I’m pretty proud of,” Tschirhart says, “but now it’s time I moved aside and let somebody with new ideas take over.”?
