Truck Economists: “Recession Not Imminent”
COLUMBUS, In. — Forecasts for both heavy duty and medium duty vehicles are unchanged for this month from last month, according to the October issue of ACT North American Commercial Vehicle Outlook, published by Americas Commercial Transportation (ACT) Research Co.
"We do not yet believe that a recession is inevitable or imminent,” said Sam Kahan, ACT’s chief economist. Strength is being demonstrated in both medium and heavy duty markets, Kahan said, adding that class 8 orders rose above expectations in August "while cancellations remained modest."
