Truck inspectors wrap up championships
MILWAUKEE, Wisc. (Aug. 23, 2002) — Ewoud VanGoch of Ontario, was the Canadian commercial vehicle inspector who earned the most points at this year’s North American Inspectors’ Championship which showcased truck inspectors from Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
VanGoch also finished third in the motor coach inspection division, while Trudy Iwanyshyn of Alberta took third place in the HazMat and cargo tank inspection.
The event, sponsored by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, involved training sessions dealing with situations based on the events of Sept. 11 and the related issue of how trucks can be used as terrorist weapons.
