Truck traffic halted on Confederation Bridge
CHARLOTTETOWN — Truck and car travel between New Brunswick and PEI is shut down because of high winds in the region.
High-sided trucks, tractors and trailers, as well as automobiles towing trailers, recreational vehicles and buses are restricted until further notice.
The restriction was put in place early this morning as a major snowstorm blew in from the U.S. east coast.
By the early Thursday morning, Environment Canada reported that the storm system was lying over New Brunswick and snow and freezing rain warnings have been issued. In Nova Scotia, high wind warnings are in place for much of Sydney Metro and Cape Breton, Richmond and Inverness Counties.
