Truck World to host seminars on hours of service, fuel economy, safety
TORONTO (July 2, 2002) — Organizers of Truck World 2002, the national trucking industry trade show scheduled for Sept. 26-28 in Toronto, announced a series of seminars to be held on site. Aimed at drivers, the seminars are 45-minutes long each and will be held on the final day of the show, Saturday, Sept. 28.
“A Trucker’s Guide to the Hours of Work Changes,” on proposed changes to federal standards on driving and rest times, is scheduled for 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. The seminars are being presented by the Canadian Trucking Alliance and the Ontario Trucking Association.
“Stretch Your Fuel Dollars!,” covers how to improve your fuel economy. Hosted by FleetSmart, part of the federal Office of Energy Efficiency, sessions will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.
“Fatal Distractions” addresses strategies to prevent driver inattention. Presented by Transportation Health and Safety Association of Ontario, sessions will begin at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.
Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The seminars are free with admission to the show, which costs $10 if you pre-register or $15 on site. Children under 16 are free. Register on the web, by fax, by mail, or at the show, which will be held at The National Trade Centre on the CNE Grounds in Toronto.
