UniMax Axles Have Sealed Wheel Hubs
Mack Trucks says its new UniMax front axle, available in 18,000 and 20,000-pound capacities, is the first heavy-duty axle with unitized wheel hubs.
The unitized wheel hubs are permanently sealed with synthetic long-lasting grease, providing protection and superior lubrication to wheel seals and bearings. They eliminate endplay adjustments to further reduce maintenance.
In addition, the light weight of the axle lets you optimize payload with no sacrifice in axle durability, and the axle is designed for better control and stability while operating in the most severe job site, the company says. This rigid control feature is the result of the new, tapered kingpin design that, again, requires no adjustments.
