Upbeat Mood at 5th Annual Road Today Show
BRAMPTON, ON. — There was an upbeat mood from both exhibitors and visitors at this year’s 5th Annual Road Today Truck Show, held last weekend at Brampton’s Soccer Centre.
Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell and Regional Councillor John Sanderson inaugurated the show, congratulating the show’s organizers on their fifth year.
It was a good year, too; nearly 7000 people dropped in over the course of the weekend to visit the 100 exhibitors on hand.
The job fair was a huge success, show organizers said, and truckers had many of their compliance questions answered from Ministry of Transportation officers.
Children were treated to live entertainment, a rock wall and a bouncy castle, while adults got to play in a driving simulator, enter draws and win giveaways.
The Road Today Trucking Excellence Awards were also presented at the show. Aman Thakral of ITS Transport was named Owner Operator of the Year, Dr. Peter Gibson of Bramalea Secondary School was named Trucking Educationist of the Year and Trucking Ambassador of the Year went to Hans Janzen of Mississauga.
