UPS shipment tracking requests hit high
ATLANTA (Dec. 27, 1999) — United Parcel Service of America Inc. received on Dec. 21 almost 3.3 million online requests to track packages, the highest ever, the company said in a press release last week.
The volume of tracking requests is more than double the 1.5 million it averaged just prior to this year’s peak holiday season, according to UPS. Shipments approached 18 million a day in the week leading up to Christmas, compared with an average of 12.5 million a day.
