Visteon Automotive buys 80% of PABA
DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford Motor Co.’s parts subsidiary, Visteon Automotive Systems, said it has acquired 80% of PABA Inc., a maker of climate control products for cars and trucks. Terms were not disclosed.
PABA makes replacement radiators, condensers, and heater parts. It will be renamed Visteon Climate Control Systems Ltd., Visteon said. PABA is comprised of ARS Inc. of Buffalo, N.Y., and Whole Radiator Warehouses of America Inc., based in Somerset, N.J.
PABA has an assembly plant in Buffalo, three regional distribution hubs, and 14 warehouses throughout the United States and Canada.
“This acquisition is in keeping with our push to become a leader in the automotive aftermarket,” said Craig Muhlhauser, Visteon president.
“We are turning up the heat on our aftermarket efforts and will leverage the capabilities of PABA to reach new customers and companies.”
Dearborn, Mich.-based Visteon already has a climate control systems operation, with 29 plants around the world.
