Volvo Reorganizes Truck Business
GOTEBORG, Sweden — The sales and marketing of Volvo’s truck companies are being reorganized into three geographical divisions, announced Volvo today in a press release.
There are currently four different brand companies: Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks, and UD Trucks.
North and South America; Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and Asia and the Pacific, are the geographical regions, each reporting to CEO Olof Persson.
Additionally, product development and production of trucks and engines will be shifted into two new central organizational units, also directly under Persson.
An improved coordination between Volvo’s truck companies and development and production will allow for a more distinct and better focus, Persson said.
"A company’s work is never done," he said, "and it is now time for the next step."
Volvo expects the new organizational structure to be in place January 1, 2012.
