Volvo unveils new truck leasing system
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Sept. 18, 2003) — Volvo Trucks North America has created the Volvo Truck Leasing System (VTLS) to serve what the company says is the trucking industry’s growing need for full-service truck leasing and rental.
The new Volvo system — which offers a complete line of Volvo trucks and a full menu of highly customizable offerings, including contract maintenance, full-service leases, finance leases, and truck rentals — began operation this summer with 160 service locations across North America. Through this system, Volvo Truck Leasing System members also offer support services such as parts, tax service, tires, permits, licensing, fuel cards, road service, insurance and credit cards.
“We expect this system to expand as Volvo Trucks dealers with independent leasing operations recognize the value and opportunity VTLS offers both them and their customers,” said Terry Dubowick, director of VTLS, as well as Mack Leasing System. VTLS is initially comprised of the members of the existing Mack Leasing System (founded in 1987); 23 of these Mack dealers are also Volvo Truck dealers.
In addition to providing Volvo leasing and support, each location will provide service for both Volvo and Mack vehicles in the leasing system.
