Volvo vocationals win construction mag awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Volvo’s new family of diesel engines, as well as the Volvo VT 800 daycab truck, were named some of the Top 100 New Products of 2006 by Construction Equipment magazine.

These awards emphasize innovations and highlight manufacturers who invest in research and development, since these investments pay off for equipment users in the form of greater productivity, efficiencies and safety. The awards list appears in the December 2006 issue of the magazine.

Volvo’s new line of diesel engines — the 11-liter D11, 13-liter D13 and 16-liter D16 — share common design and functionality, Volvo says.

The Volvo VT 800 brings Volvo’s highest horsepower and torque capabilities to a rugged daycab with a bold, powerful look. Its large hood is able to provide cooling for the high-horsepower applications, while delivering the aerodynamics, visibility and maneuverability.
