Western Star rolls out medium-duty sales support

KELOWNA, B.C. (May 15, 2000) — Western Star Trucks has organized a new sales group to support its Solar Series medium-duty truck introduced last year.

Stephen J. Larkin, a former Volvo and Navistar executive, has been named vice-president of medium-duty sales for North America and will establish an office in Dallas, Texas. J.P. Ouellette will oversee Solar Series sales in Canada and will be based in Toronto, reporting to Larkin. Ouellette had been fleet sales manager for Metro International, a subsidiary of Navistar.

To date, over 100 existing Western Star Class 8 dealers have established franchises to sell the new trucks, the company said.
