Western Star unveils Stratosphere sleeper

Western Star Trucks
Western Star Trucks has unveiled the 82-inch Stratosphere Light Sleeper for over-the-road truck operators.

The new sleeper, which is available on all Western Star 4900 models, including the EX, FA and SA, offers full stand-up room and a flat floor throughout the cab and sleeper, providing a significant amount of additional headroom in the area between the driver’s and passenger’s seat. On the outside, the Stratosphere’s external configuration allows for the installation of roof-mounted air horns and marker lights.

The Stratosphere sleeper can be converted into a Day Cab, which increases the resale value of the vehicle in the truck market. It is available in three trim levels – Phoenix, Mesa and Dakota – with numerous cabinet, storage, window and lighting options. Four different bunk configurations are available, including the optional dinette sleeper seating package which provides two seats and a table, turning the sleeper compartment into a comfortable area for eating, reading or doing paperwork. In addition, a new optional skylight window is available.

Other standard sleeper features include: single lower 42-inch bunk with netted bunk restraint; LHS cabinet with fridge prep and two drawers with slide-out work surface and upper area storage; ribbed rubber mat in luggage/tool compartment; convenience door LHS and glass panel RHS; four overhead halogen lamps with individual and main switch control; 12V power outlet mounted in control panel; and semi-integral mount-to-cab with air-ride support.

Options include: digital automatic temperature control; sleeper start kit which includes: ignition switch, stop engine light, check engine light and digital clock; R-2300 Nova fridge DC as well as a TV, microwave, stereo; lighting packages, and a wide range of shore power systems including 110 AC hook-up, cable and phone jacks.
