XM-ready radio: Delphi launches SKYFi Audio System
Delphi Product & Service Solutions
The Delphi’s SKYFi Audio System for the XM satellite radio service integrates the receiver into a portable audio unit — essentially, it’s a boombox, but the receiver also connects easily to any existing car stereo with the purchase of a Vehicle Adaptor Kit.
The receiver features a large display that concurrently shows channel number, channel name, artist name, song title, and channel category. It comes with a remote control and has 20 channel presets, and can be powered by an AC adapter or batteries for use almost anywhere.
XM Radio, based in Washington, D.C., offers 100 channels of music, news, talk, sports, comedy, and children’s programming for a monthly subscription fee, about $10. Although XM’s satellite signal reaches into portions of Canada, XM is currently only licensed to provide service to the United States.
