YRC promotes Gaines to senior VP, CFO
KANSAS CITY — Phil J. Gaines has his work cut out for him.
As the new senior vice president and chief financial officer for YRC Worldwide, Gaines will be responsible for directing the finances of the struggling LTL carrier.
He will also work on the overall financial restructuring efforts of the parent company as it negotiates with lenders and the Teamsters union.
Gaines has served in a variety of positions over his 22 years with YRC Worldwide, including senior VP, and chief accounting officer; and senior VP, Investor and Government Relations, as well as VP, Corporate Controller.
Gaines also served as president of Yellow Transportation prior to the integration of Yellow Transportation and Roadway in March 2009.
