Load volumes break records in August
TORONTO, ON - Canadian load volumes were the highest ever recorded for any August reports TransCore Link Logistics. The company says August 2017 saw a 12% increase month-over-month, from load volumes in July, but the month also shattered records set for the highest August values, with a 26% increase over August 2011.
Trimble acquires 10-4 Systems
SUNNYVALE, CA - Trimble has acquired shipping and transportation technology company 10-4 Systems. Trimble, owner of telematics providers like TMW and PeopleNet, announced today their acquisition of the privately held company that offers shipment visibility to shippers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
CTEA conference looks to the future
WINDOSR, ON - From the future of carbon pricing to the latest in trailer manufacturing, the 2017 Canadian Transportation Equipment Association's (CTEA) annual conference and trade fair is looking forward with optimism. Called "Up the Ante: Innovate!," the 54th annual manufacturers conference is being held at Caesar's Windsor Oct. 23-25, and is being billed as a place for members, vocational truck manufacturers, their dealers, suppliers, and service providers to network.

Kenworth, PACCAR, DAF join SuperTruck II
KIRKLAND, WA - Kenworth and PACCAR, along with DAF Trucks NV, are forming a super team to participate in the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) SuperTruck II program. The companies announced their collaboration to join in on the DOE project to develop freight-efficient technologies, this week. Other partners include Eaton, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Mississippi State University, and AVL.
